Alaskan Captures

About Tod

Growing up in Sheboygan Falls Wisconsin, Tod formed his love for wildlife and the outdoors. During memorable adventures with his dad, Ernest and two brothers, Eric & Clint...along with family outings & camping trips which included his mom, Dianna and sister, Sandy. Tod and his wife, Janice traveled throughout the contiguous United States camping, hiking and taking photographs; before moving to Fairbanks Alaska in 1995. Tod has traveled to many areas of Alaska enjoying the vast opportunities available and meeting many fantastic people. Denali National Park is his favorite place to spend time and photograph wildlife. Tod became interested in photography when his brother, Clint and he bought their first 35mm cameras and since then Tod has worked with several camera brands.  In early 2001 he switched to Canon exclusively; using a Canon EOS-1Vhs and a Canon EOS-3 along with the many wonderful Canon lenses. Tod started to experiment with digital photography along with his 35mm slide work. In 2003 Tod received his first pro digital body. During his third trip to McNeil River in 2005 he appreciated the advantages of digital photography in a remote location (along with the increased quality) and has not used film since.
